The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has opened admission into its Certificate in Entrepreneurship Education programme, which is set to commence on September 30, 2026.

The Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and General Studies (DE&GS), Dr. Samuel Awolumate, announced that the programme is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills essential for entrepreneurship and business development.

Dr. Awolumate stated, "It will be delivered virtually over eight weeks – six weeks of intensive training and two weeks for examinations and development of a Business Model Canvas."

The programme will encompass key areas such as Entrepreneurial Thinking, Creativity and Innovation, Value Chain and Record-Keeping, Business Modelling, and Financial Planning and Management. Additional modules will include Marketing, Monitoring and Evaluation, Technology in Business Management, Business Plan Development, Grant Winning Strategies, Business Sustainability, Business Registration and Regulatory Agencies, and Artificial Intelligence in Business Strategy and Operations.

Applicants are required to have a minimum of three credits at O’Level. The application fee is set at N5,000, while course registration costs N8,500 per module.

Beyond the training, participants will also have access to entrepreneurship incubation opportunities provided by DE&GS in collaboration with the Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL), aimed at nurturing and scaling their business ideas.

The programme will be facilitated by experienced academics and industry professionals.
