The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Lagos Zonal Office has undergone a leadership transition with the formal handover of the Director’s position from Professor F. Fatimayin to Dr. Nimisore M. Akano.

The transition follows recent staff postings by the university and marks the conclusion of Professor Fatimayin’s two-year tenure as Director of the Lagos Zonal Office.

During the handover ceremony, the outgoing Director introduced the heads of various units to her successor and expressed gratitude to the staff for their support and cooperation throughout her time in office.

In her farewell remarks, Professor Fatimayin acknowledged the collaboration and goodwill she received during her tenure. “I would like to take this occasion to express my gratitude to everyone for your cooperation, assistance, care and affection during the two years I have spent here. I arrived in good health, and I depart in good health as well,” she stated.

She encouraged the staff to extend the same level of support and cooperation to the new Director, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in advancing the activities and achievements of the Lagos Zonal Office.

In her inaugural remarks, Dr. Akano praised Professor Fatimayin for her dedication and contributions to the development of the Zonal Office during her tenure. She called upon the staff to uphold a strong spirit of teamwork and collaboration, urging them to work together towards achieving greater progress and improved service delivery.
