NOUN's Obagaji Study Centre Embarks on Advocacy Campaign in Benue State

Agatu, Benue State - Mr. Baba Usman, the Acting Director of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Obagaji Study Centre, spearheaded an outreach initiative to the Methodist Church in Ogule, located within the Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State. The advocacy campaign aimed to raise awareness about NOUN and its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs.

Usman led his team to the church during a well-attended Sunday service. The presence of the NOUN delegation was highlighted multiple times by the presiding Bishop, the Rt. Reverend Mark Elaigwu Ochinjele.

"This visit provided a valuable platform to elucidate the distinctive methodology underpinning NOUN's educational delivery," stated Usman. He emphasized the flexibility and accessibility inherent in the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) model.

During his address to the congregation, Usman detailed the admission process and the diverse range of programs available at the university. He sensitized the attendees on how they could pursue higher education without disrupting their existing commitments.

Usman further articulated the benefits of the ODL system championed by NOUN. He highlighted the cost-effectiveness and the inherent flexibility that allows students to study at their own pace and convenience. This system is particularly beneficial for those with work or family responsibilities.

Committed to expanding NOUN's reach, Usman affirmed his dedication to establishing the university as a well-known and respected institution within the Agatu Kingdom, encompassing the Apa and Ohimini Local Government Areas and surrounding communities. He declared his intention to make NOUN a household name.

The Rt. Reverend Mark Elaigwu Ochinjele, Bishop of the Methodist Church, expressed his gratitude for the NOUN team's visit. He assured them of the church members' enthusiastic participation and pledged to encourage enrollment in NOUN's programs.

The educational outreach concluded positively, with the Rt. Reverend Mark Elaigwu Ochinjele delivering a message of appreciation for the enlightening session. The event culminated in the distribution of NOUN promotional materials, including flyers, face caps, and brochures, designed to provide further information about the university and its offerings.
