The Ikorodu Model Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), led by its Director, Prof. Saheed Ajibola, on Friday, November 22, 2024 held an exam briefing for its students.

The Director, in the company of other senior staff, introduced NOUN's activities to the students.

Ajibola gave a brief history of NOUN and the centre.

He explained that the operation of the centre took off on February 6, 2023 at Jumofak, Ikorodu, while the permanent site situated at Itamaga-Ijede road was commissioned on September 3, 2024 by the Pro-Chancellor of NOUN, Mallam Isa Yuguda, in company of other council members and Principal Officers of University.

The director also said that during the inauguration of the study centre, the students enrollment was just over 95 in number with prospective students visiting the new edifice on a daily basis for enquiry.

He added that "the centre presently boasts of the student population of over 3000 and is still counting."

He further informed the audience of the various facilities at the centre and how they should utilise them for the enhancement of their studies, assuring them that the university certificate is recognised not only in the country, but all over the world.

He therefore urged the students to face their studies with all the seriousness it deserves and avoid engaging in negative activities that might hinder them from making good grades, getting them suspended, or even expulsion from the university.

Staff at the briefing include the Deputy Bursar, Ms. Adeola Ahmed, the PAR, Mrs. Bukola Edun, the Head of IT, Mr. Peter Olajimbiti and other staff of the centre who took turns to brief students about NOUN's examination guidelines.

The students were also taught NOUN's anthem, what to know about the study centre registration, matriculation, change of study centre, how to pay their school fees, the amount for compulsory fee, course and exam registration for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, among others.

They were also equipped with the knowledge of accessing their portal, student email, how to partake in facilitation and how to access their course materials (both hard and E-copies).

Both the director and staff answered and explained all questions asked by the students at the end of the event.
