In a spirited effort to enhance enrollment and create awareness, the Isua Akoko Community Study Centre in Ondo State has embarked on a series of impactful advocacy campaigns. Led by the center's director, Dr. A.M Badmus, the team embarked on visits to key local entities to spread the message of NOUN's offerings and benefits.
The advocacy journey commenced with a courtesy visit to the Reagent of Ifira, Princess Oshin, in her majestic palace. The center's director articulated the purpose of the visit: to familiarize the community with NOUN's operations and encourage widespread enrollment among the Ifira community residents. Dr. Badmus highlighted the unique flexibility of studying with NOUN and the comprehensive support services provided to students at the Isua Akoko center.
During the interaction, the director appealed to the reagent for her assistance in disseminating the advocacy message within her community, targeting council of elders and youths alike. Responding graciously, the reagent lauded the advocacy team's efforts and agreed to assist in spreading the message. As a token of gratitude, an NOUN advocacy souvenir was presented to the regent, symbolizing the bond between education and the community.
The team's journey continued as they visited Upland College of Education, led by the esteemed Provost, Prof. A. M. Busari, who is also a facilitator at NOUN. Dr. Badmus commended the provost and engaged with him and students from the Ifira and Upland communities. Prof. Busari expressed his commitment to encouraging his colleagues to pursue Ph.D. programs at NOUN and encouraged Upland NCE graduates to seek their degrees from NOUN as well.
Continuing their mission, the team extended their gratitude to Prof. Kayode S. J., CEO of the institution, acknowledging his unwavering support as a facilitator and his contributions to the center's growth. Prof. Kayode welcomed the team and expressed his hope for a continued fruitful partnership between the institutions.
The advocacy team's dedication even led them to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Isua-Akoko. While their initial visit was rescheduled due to the DPO's absence, this effort demonstrated their commitment to engaging with every sector of the community, including law enforcement.
As the Isua Akoko Community Study Centre forges ahead with their advocacy endeavors, their endeavors echo the importance of bridging connections and fostering collaboration between education, community leaders, educators, and law enforcement. The mission to promote learning, enrich lives, and uplift communities remains at the forefront of this dynamic initiative.
