The Patani Community Study Centre, which is affiliated with the prestigious National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has taken their advocacy campaign to new heights by venturing beyond their borders. Recently, they embarked on a remarkable journey to the captivating Bayelsa State, spreading their mission of education and empowerment. On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, the centre's acting director, Mr. Douye Koroye, led an extraordinary team on this inspiring initiative.
Their expedition led them deep into the heart of Bayelsa, specifically to the Sagbama and Kolokuma local government areas. They visited esteemed institutions such as the Government Model Secondary School in Sagbama, the Sagbama Local Government Council, and the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) in Sagbama. Additionally, they immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the motor parks, lively markets, and quaint roadside shops in Kolokuma, all with the aim of reaching as many people as possible.
During their visits, Mr. Koroye passionately conveyed the purpose of their mission, enlightening the diverse audience about the various aspects of the National Open University of Nigeria. They delved into the university's vision, mission, admission processes, mode of operation, and even provided valuable insights into the NOUN websites, course and program duration, as well as the exciting array of courses and programs available.
But that's not all! The team went above and beyond by emphasizing the flexibility of the university's operations, showcasing how it caters to individuals with different lifestyles and commitments. Moreover, they proudly showcased the unique advantage of the Patani Community Study Centre's location, which offers unparalleled opportunities for education and personal growth.
A truly remarkable aspect of this outreach program was the distribution of advocacy flyers. These informative materials were shared with the Sagbama Local Government Council, Universal Basic Education Board, and even with the enthusiastic members of the community, ensuring that the transformative message of education reached far and wide.
Alongside Mr. Koroye, the driving force behind this impactful journey, were other passionate members of the advocacy team. This remarkable team included Mr. Ese, the center's esteemed accountant, Mr. Destiny Izu, the dedicated administrative officer, and Mr. Godswill Edozie, the experienced senior clerical officer. Together, they formed an indomitable force, working tirelessly to drive change and ignite the flame of education in Bayelsa.
The Patani Community Study Centre's foray into Bayelsa State exemplifies their unwavering commitment to bringing education closer to communities that yearn for knowledge and empowerment. Their tireless efforts and dedication to this cause serve as an inspiration to us all. Let's applaud their remarkable endeavors and eagerly await the transformative impact it will undoubtedly have on the lives of the people of Bayelsa.
