The Commonwealth Executive MBA (CEMBA) and Commonwealth Executive MPA (CEMPA) programs at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) have taken their advocacy campaign to new heights. From Monday, May 15th, 2023, to Friday, May 19th, 2023, the team ventured into the heart of Abuja metropolis, reaching out to key public sector organizations and private enterprises.
Their mission included engaging with institutions such as the Nigeria Immigration Services, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Debt Management Office (DMO), Office of the Auditor General of the Federation, Deposit Money Banks, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service. Furthermore, the team extended their reach to the Federal Secretariat, interacting with ministries, parastatals, and influential bodies like the Office of the Head of Service, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Nigerian Law Reforms Commission.
In a memorandum dated June 6th, 2023, titled "Report of a Week-long Advocacy Campaign for CEMBA/CEMPA," Associate Professor Johnson I. Okoh, the coordinator and team lead, highlighted the primary objective of the campaign: to raise awareness about the programs and encourage prospective students to apply, ultimately boosting student enrollment.
According to Okoh's report, the five-day advocacy campaign yielded remarkable results. Notably, it successfully increased awareness about the executive programs, dispelled misconceptions surrounding NOUN, fostered cross-marketing opportunities for other university programs, and fostered engagement with stakeholders. The team's tireless efforts were supported by dedicated staff members from the Department of Public Administration and Business Administration.
The impact of this extensive outreach campaign cannot be overstated. By promoting the benefits and opportunities offered by CEMBA/CEMPA, the team has paved the way for aspiring professionals to further their education and expand their horizons. With increased awareness and engagement, NOUN's executive programs are poised to make a lasting impact on the public and private sectors, nurturing a talented workforce equipped with the knowledge and skills to drive Nigeria's future growth.
The journey continues as CEMBA/CEMPA's advocacy efforts forge ahead, leaving a trail of inspiration and empowerment in their wake.
