The Ilaro Community Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has received a significant boost to its technological resources thanks to the generosity of Dr. Deen Ibiyemi, a community leader and dedicated philanthropist. Dr. Ibiyemi recently donated two branded laptops and a desktop computer to the centre.

Ibiyemi, accompanied by a four-person team, presented the equipment as part of an initiative designed to bolster the study centre's capacity to serve the local community. The donation underscores a commitment to fostering educational development within the region.

"The community is immensely proud of the achievements of NOUN, particularly the impact of the community study centre," stated Dr. Ibiyemi during the presentation.

He emphasized that the donation was a "modest token" of appreciation and support for the study centre's work. Dr. Ibiyemi also pledged further contributions in the near future, signaling an ongoing commitment to the institution's growth.

The visiting team expressed their gratitude for the warm reception they received from Mr. Moses Ayokunle Ola, the Acting Director, and the staff of the Ilaro Community Study Centre.

In response, Mr. Ola conveyed his sincere appreciation for the "invaluable" donation. He highlighted the critical role of computers in an Open and Distance Learning environment like NOUN.

"This contribution significantly enhances our capacity to serve both staff and students," Ola stated. "With this donation you have added to the new computers available for both staffers and students of the study centre. We believe more assistance will be received for the growth of the community study centre in due course," Ola added, expressing optimism for future support.
