Professor Ali Yusufu Bagaji has monitored the ongoing e-examination at Gusau Study Centre, which was meant to ensure the integrity and credibility of the university's examination process.
Shortly after being received by the Ag.Centre Director, Mr. Aliyu Surajo Haido, Bagaji inspected the centre's offices and other facilities.
The centre's staff were then introduced to the visiting professor.
Consequently, Haido ushered in the monitoring officer to the examination hall where students were seated for the first morning session paper.
Bagaji equally monitored the second segment of the morning paper as he thoroughly supervised the sitting arrangement as well as the spacing.
The same scenario played out at noon session of the e-xam at the centre.
Speaking on the exercise, Bogaji stated that his visit was aimed at preventing any form of malpractice and misconduct and would ensure a smooth conduct of the examination.
He added that the exercise is crucial to maintaining the high standards of the institution.
"We take the conduct of our examinations very seriously, and we want to ensure that our students are assessed fairly and transparently," said Bagaji.
He added that "The university is concerned with effective monitoring of the exams because it wants to prevent any form of irregularities that could compromise the integrity of the examination system and the university at large.
"With the university's monitoring system in place, NOUN is confident that it can prevent such incidents and ensure that our students are held to the highest standards of academic integrity."
To ensure a successful exercise, the Centre Director was tasked with ensuring that all rules and regulations governing the conduct of the examination must be strictly adhered to, he explained.
He commended the foresight of the centre's management for initiating the idea of converting the centre's car porch to an examination hall, which was nearing completion.
On his part, Haido assured that all students were properly identified and verified before being allowed to take the exams.
"The centre always ensures that only bonafide students of the university are taking the exams.
“Together with the staff of the centre we were putting all that is necessary in order to ensure that all students are given a fair and equal opportunity to succeed,” he said.
The director reiterated the centre's commitment to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity.
