The Centre Director, Dr. Joseph B. Oyadeyi (4th left), the Diocesan, Bishop of the Diocese of Akoko, Rt. Rev Jacob O.B Bada (5th left), NOUN staff members, and some members of the Diocesan Youth Executive during an advocacy campaign programme

The Centre Director, Oka- Akoko Community Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr.Joseph B.Oyadeyiat, and some staff of the centre, have embarked on an advocacy campaign to St. John's Anglican Church, Ogbagi-Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The director, who was given audience at the 1st Session of the 14th Synod, addressed them at the session of the Youth Convocation comprising all Anglican youths in the four Local Governments in Akoko land, where he elucidated on all the activities of NOUN and its programmes, comprising the admission, eligibility and mode of instruction, among others.

Oyadeyiat also urged the audience to grab the opportunity NOUN is offering through the Open and Distance Learning in Akoko land to access quality education that is accessible, flexible, and affordable which comes with the National Universities Commission’s accreditation.

He listed the various faculties and highlighted some of the programmes offered at the university, urging the youths to take advantage of the institution which is at their doorsteps, without further waste of their time.

The director cleared the air on the erroneous belief by some people that NOUN is for part-time and working class, saying that "NOUN is for all who seek for knowledge and want to add value to themselves."

The forum provided participants the opportunity of asking questions concerning the operations of NOUN, and answers were effectively given by the Centre Director, who subsequently dropped several copies of the university's literatures and current handles showcasing the various programmes and requirements to the Youth President for more information.

Soft copies of the university’s admission advertisement were also given to the various youth leaders to post on their various platforms.

The host, Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Jacob O.B. Bada, expressed his appreciation to the director and his team.
