VC unveiling NOUNAA bus
The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Olufemi Peters, has commended the National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA) for its initiatives and implementation of laudable projects.
Peters said this during the unveiling ceremony of the Toyota Hiace Bus purchased by the association, which was held at the headquarters of the university in Abuja.
“This is the first in the history of the university. NOUNAA is well on its way to achieving one of its goals, which is to be an independent body,” he said.
He specifically thanked the outgoing registrar, Mr. Felix Edoka and the Director of Advancement and Linkages, Mrs. Omorogieva E. Ileka, saying that “Without them, this new development might not have been possible.”
Earlier, the NOUNAA president, Mr. Muntaka Abdul-Hadi Dabo stated that one of the goals of purchasing the bus was to generate revenue for the association to avoid running to the university every time they had to execute a project.
Dabo added that the association had a lot of projects they were going to embark on, citing the guest houses set at cheaper prices for the university community.
The president thanked the Vice-Chancellor, the registrar, the Director of Advancement and Linkages and other principal officers for their supports to the association.
