Sequel to the enormity of works facing the directorate, the Director, NOUN Press, Prof. Olubiyi Adewale, has charged members of staff as well as the newly trained Instructional Designers (ID) to prepare and get ready for works.

Adewale stated this on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 during the maiden staff meeting of the directorate at the university headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.

While welcoming the newly trained ID to the directorate, Adewale said they should justify the confidence the university reposed in them with the spirit of dedication and commitment.

Speaking on the structure of NOUN Press, he said that the directorate has three units which, according to him, include: Course Material Development Unit (CMDU), Printing Press (PP) and the Warehouse. He added that Instructional Designing is a sub-unit under CMDU.

The director informed the staff that CMDU will be headed by Mr. Gbenga Olufemi; Printing Press by Oladapo Timothy Olusegun while Famous N. Arubi heads Warehouse.

While intimating the staff on the 2024 activities, he said the major task facing the directorate was Course Material review as well as Course Material development.

“The earlier we start, the better for us. Priority will be given to the faculties and departments that are going for accreditation. Be ready, be on your toes,” he said.

On tools and offices that would enable staff perform optimally, the director said arrangement is in top gear towards the realization of the directorate’s goals, urging staff to work amicably and lovingly towards one another.

He said the university has been having issues of course materials “and that is why the Directorate of NOUN Press was put together.

“Our aim is for NOUN to become a reference point in Nigeria, Africa and the world. Make us proud; make NOUN proud. If you stand out in your work, your work will stand you out. Don’t be a mediocre. The work you will do will be in your record.”
