A former Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Sciences, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Associate Professor Juliana Ndunagu, has taken over the helm of affairs at Owerri Study Centre, Imo State.
Ndunagu took over from the immediate-past acting director, Dr. Theresa Ucheoma Ettu, who was recently posted to Port Harcourt Study Centre in Rivers State.
In her inaugural meeting with the centre's staff on Thursday, February 29th, 2024, Ndunagu thanked the staff for a warm reception accorded and emphasised the need to work together in peace, love and harmony as a family for the growth and development of the centre.
She said staff should forgive grudges or grievances held against one another to forge head to a brighter future.
The director advised them to be careful in all their dealings with students and eschew as much as possible the habits of gossiping, warning staff against discussing about their fellow colleagues with students.
The associate professor extolled her predecessor for her diligent and dedication to work during her 10-year tenure as the acting director of the centre.
She reiterated the importance of maintaining a friendly but firm attitude towards students, stressing that the university has zero tolerance to exams malpractice, extortion, aiding and abetting crimes, among others.
Ndunagu advised them to be security conscious because of the prevalent security situations in the state and prayed for God's guidance and protection for everyone.
